Angry Clown presented at *Hotshot Gallery"

In our society, we are trained from a young age to keep our feelings locked inside, to avoid confrontation, to be polite.

Angry Clown deals with the abandonment of politeness for the sake of catharsis, the piece explores the tension between the happy childhood birthday party memories associated with clowns, and the very un-clown like neurosis that result in an explosion of anger.

Born in El Salvador in 1968. The central aim of his art practice is to demystify established cultural constructs by involving the viewer in the humorous debunking of idealized images, concepts and paradigms. He culls images from films, television programs, literature and popular music and transpose these images within a performance art setting, or distill them into installations wherein these components are manipulated, juxtaposed, contrasted and collided against each other. Lives and works in Toronto. Ulysses has exhibited his works extensively nationally and internationally.
